As film seems to be going the way of the dinosaurs, I find it appropriate to make a memorial page of a sort.
In the age when film seems to be relegated to the niche of 'lomography', a supposed art form of making everything look as trashy as possible, with crap cameras, crap lenses and expired film cooked in stale piss, let us all remember how good film really was. When a digital camera nails a picture especially well, with subtle, delicate yet rich colors and subtle highlight transitions, and people say it looks 'almost film-like', let's all remember what that tells us about the real thing - how absolutely great it was before we abandoned it for the sake of a silicon substitute, and started treating it like a trash-art medium.
