Will Pedophilia Be Next In Massachusetts Schools?

"Child Molestation" Is Being "Normalized"

 The American Psychological Association has sent a strong message that
it will soon approve the practice of adults having sex with children,
now known as "pedophilia" or "child molestation."

 It has published a study indicating that pedophilia can have a
positive influence on a child.  This conclusion was based upon a
compilation of fifty-nine studies about how college students have
coped with childhood sexual "abuse."

 We must eliminate the use of "judgmental terms" such as "child
abuse," "molestation," and "victims," according to the study.  We
should use neutral, value-free terms like "adult-child sex."   We
should not talk about "the severity of the abuse," but instead refer
to "the level of sexual intimacy."

 APA Attempts to Distance Itself

 The APA is attempting to distance itself from the article by saying
that the publication of such a study does not imply an endorsement.

 "We are a scientific organization, and we publish a lot of scientific
literature and we try to create a lot of dialogue," stated APA
spokeswoman Rhea Farberman.

 She said that any attempt to build a bridge "between this study and
so-called attempt to normalize pedophilia is ridiculous.  The APA is
on the record time and time again to protect children and to protect
the integrity of families.  It is clear to us that child sexual abuse
is harmful."

 However, the article, which was printed in the Psychological
Bulletin [1], was clear.

 It stated that the "negative potential" of sexual abuse has "been
overstated."  Forty-two percent of the male college students viewed
their sexual involvement as positive when looking back on it.  Between
24-37% of the men saw it as a positive influence on their current sex
lives.

 The authors of the study believe that pedophilia is not a moral
problem:
"Classifying a behavior as abuse simply because it is generally viewed
as immoral or defined as illegal is problematic."

 Psychiatrists Agree

 Meanwhile, the psychiatrists of the country have already sent a
signal that they too will support the "normalization" of sex with
children.

 Their association, the American Psychiatric Association, very quietly
changed its diagnostic manual a few years back so that a person no
longer has a "disorder" simply because he "molests" children.  To be
diagnosed as "disordered," the psychiatrists will look to the psyche
of the adult.  If the adult does not feel anxious about the
relationship with the child or if he is not impaired in his work or
social relationships, then he has no "disorder."

 Because of an outcry by the professional organization, National
Association on Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (known as NARTH)
and others, the psychiatrists have attempted to backtrack and to
confuse journalists. They have prepared a "Fact Sheet" for journalists
which presents an entirely different picture from the official manual.
They tell journalists that any adult who has sex with children is "by
definition" considered to be a pedophile.  But that is not what the
official manual says.  In order for any journalist to understand the
truth behind this "Fact Sheet," he will have to be very sophisticated.
It is a very professional attempt at obfuscation.

 Pedophiles Are Intelligent Professionals

 The pedophiles who are advocating these changes are highly
intelligent, professional men. It will not be easy to debate them.  If
you doubt that, try visiting the website of the North American Man/Boy
Love Association. They are very excited about this new study.

 Their website says that this new study "bolsters the long-standing
claim of NAMBLA activists that consensual sex between men and boys
doesn't cause psychological damage."

 NAMBLA cites people such as Kate Millett, an important figure in the
feminist movement, who  says, "[T]he sexual freedom of children is an
important part of a sexual revolution."  In addition, she adds that
children should be free to love each other and there should be no
taboo on incest.

 It also cites feminist Camille Paglia, who says: "On the evening
news, one sees handcuffed teachers, priests and Boy Scout leaders
hustled into police vans.  Therapists call them maladjusted,
emotionally immature.  But beauty has its own laws, inconsistent with
Christian morality.  As a woman, I feel free to protest that men today
are pilloried for something that was rational and honorable in
Greece..."

 NAMBLA was founded in Boston in 1978 after two dozen men were
indicted in Revere for sex crimes.  Its goal is to repeal those state
laws which mandate an age of consent for sexual relations by children.
It is now headquartered in New York and San Francisco.

  Boston Phoenix Leads the Charge

 The Boston Phoenix is a leading advocate of pedophilia in
Massachusetts. A popular columnist for the Phoenix, Michael Bronski,
wrote in March 1999 that the concern about protecting our children is
only "gay-bashing." He said that the concern about pedophilia is
"simply the latest in a series of ongoing attacks on gay people and
gay rights that use the protection of children as a cover for
homophobia."

 But Bronski let the-cat-out-of-the-bag in the last paragraph of his
article when he repeated the canard that children are "empowered" and
have "autonomy" when they have the ability to have sex with adults.
He wrote, "Gay-bashing under the guise of child protection will never
go away until we as a culture can discuss the lives and needs of
children openly and honestly - and include recognition of their
sexuality, freedom, and autonomy." [emphasis added] In his world, a
child who is twelve years, or even younger, will be allowed to decide
when or where he will have sex.
This is exactly what the pedophiles wish because it will totally
empower them.

 Because the homosexual community is sharply divided on this subject,
the study will undoubtedly cause consternation among them.

 Homosexuals are proud of the fact that most child molesters are not
homosexuals.  But they do not consider that the only reason this is
true is because only 3% of the population are homosexuals; the truth
is that pedophilia is more than three times more common among
homosexuals.   Some studies have shown that 35% of pedophiles are
homosexual.   It is estimated that approximately 80% of pedophilic
victims are boys who have been molested by adult males.

 Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, President of NARTH says it is not surprising
that we see more pedophilia among homosexual men: because they are
more likely to have been victims of abuse themselves, they are also
more likely to initiate a repetition of that abuse with a same-sex
child.

 I am told that if you take a visit to the homosexual bookstore, "The
Glad Day Bookshop" on Boylston Street across from the Boston Public
Library, you'll find hundreds of books on the subject.   All of the
members of NAMBLA are homosexual.

 But Aren't Psychologists and Psychiatrists The "Experts?"

 Many people will say they cannot question the decision of a
psychologist or psychiatrist.  After all, that is the role of a
doctor; it is not for a layman to disagree.

 But that is not true, says Dr. Nicolosi.

 The majority of "disorders" are traits that are considered to be
socially undesirable.  What is "socially undesirable" will be set by
the society, not by a doctor.

 Any person has the ability to make this decision, according to
Nicolosi. These are political decisions, he says.

 For example, if a society believes shoplifting is an undesirable
trait, then it will be labeled as a "disorder" and the doctors will
treat those persons for kleptomania.  However, if the people who are
stealing are doing so to feed their starving children and are being
exploited by the store owners, then a shoplifter will be viewed as a
hero by society and he will not find himself in a doctor's office.

 Another example would be a man enjoys the killing of  animals.  He is
not seen as someone with a "disorder."   However, if the hunters in
the United States become fewer and fewer, it is not inconceivable that
they will be labeled as "disordered."  This is a societal decision.

 This is exactly what happened in 1973 with the "normalization" of
homosexuality by the American Psychiatric Association, says Nicolosi.
After the Association had been harassed with violence by homosexual
activists for four years at its meetings, it changed its mind in 1973.
It said that this tremendous change was based upon a study which
claimed that some homosexual individuals evidenced no obvious
psychological abnormality and several homosexuals said they were very
happy and therefore they could not be labeled as being "disordered."
But the real reason was the immense pressure they had received from
the activists. (Only one-third of the psychiatrists voted; and four
years later, 69% of the psychiatrists disagreed with the vote.)

 It should be noted that both of these professional organizations now
have homosexuals on their staff who take care of the "concerns" of
Lesbians, Gays, and Bisexuals.   We should also note that the
psychiatrists are saying that this practice is not a disorder if it
doesn't bother the adult, while the psycholo- gists are saying that it
doesn't harm the child.  Is there collusion between the homosexual
activists in these two groups?  How do we measure the clout that these
activists have within their organizations?

 Change Came in 1990

 Up until 1990, NAMBLA was a fringe element in the homosexual
movement.

 Then the Journal of Homosexuality published a special double issue
devoted to the subject.  We began to hear the same arguments from
adult pedophiles that we hear from homosexuals:

   "I was born that way."
    "I can't change."

 One article in the special issue said that parents should look upon a
pedophile who loves their son "not as a rival or competitor, not as a
thief of their property, but as a partner in the boy's upbringing,
someone to be welcomed into their home..."   A professor of social
science at the State University of New York said he looks forward to
the day when Americans will "get over their hysteria about child
abuse."  One of the authors of the article in the Journal of
Homosexuality is also an author in the new APA study.

 The pre-homosexual boy is discussed by NARTH on its website.  "When
this lonely boy receives flattering attention from an older male, then
a link is established between love and homoerotic sex.  The boy comes
to believe, 'If I want love from men, I must have sex with them.'
Thus the normal and natural developmental need of same-sex love and
approval has become eroticized.   The boy may then develop a
compulsive, promiscuous sexual habit pattern, which in gay life is
seen fairly frequently....

 "Psychoanalysis recognizes the child abuser as typically an immature
man who wants to 'give love' to a boy which he did not himself receive
in childhood."

 They cite Dr. David Finkelhor, a leading U.S. researcher in the field
of child sexual abuse who says that this is primarily a moral issue.
He says that a certain percentage of young adults who were abused as
children will "report" no negative effects.  This is true because
those who are most seriously abused often rationalize severe and
prolonged abuse as positive and identify with the abuser.  They learn
to please him so that they receive more attention and gifts.

 The Children of Massachusetts

 The citizens of Massachusetts will soon have to decide whether or not
they approve of pedophilia. It will soon be fashionable.

Meanwhile, we are operating on an outdated belief in our schools that
there is a "gay gene."  Therefore, if any child exhibits any interest
in homosexuality, we say, "Oh, you were born to be a homosexual.  Go
join that Gay/Straight Alliance and he'll teach you how."

 The "Fact Sheet" from the American Psychiatric Association says,
"Some [pedophiles] develop complicated techniques for gaining access
to children. They may select a job, hobby or volunteer work that
brings them into contact with children."

The perfect place for a pedophile to find them in Massachusetts would
be working with a Gay- Straight Alliance in one of our schools.
