This is a piece of shameless cult propaganda.
Patanjali said that a yogi is far more sensitive and vulnerable
compared to the average man. The things that don't harm the foot can
destroy the eyeball. Why is it, that real yogis become more sensitive
to the environmental conditions, why is it that their spirit is less
stable, why is it, that the things that don't disturb the other people
make them cry for days?
A rock is the most stable entity. It feels nothing. You can break it,
you can hit it, you can do anything to it, and it remains stable. As
the wheel of evolution progresses, the beings become more labile,
fragile, they are influenced more by the world that surrounds them.
Human beings are more sensitive, more delicate compared to the other
beings, their minds and emotions are more subtle and easier to break.
After the Kundalini-awakening, this becomes even more so. But there is
a price. When you become more aware of the environment, you observe
the illusions and the suffering of people around you and you suffer
with them. Your vision becomes deeper, and what is it that you see?
You see blindness and ignorance surrounding you. You also experience
rare blissful moments of meeting a brilliant soul, someone who outgrew
the average.
You also experience the polluted water, the polluted food and air, and
it hurts you far more than it would hurt an average human being. You
feel the moral and intellectual pollution, and it also hurts you, more
than it would hurt average people. Your life becomes an agony, because
you see the despair and the pain around you, and you don't know the
answers, you wish your sight was taken away from you, and it doesn't
go away. Other people are busy earning money, caring about trivia,
caring about Y2K... not you.
Eventually, when you face and overcome the inner darkness of your
soul, when you survive many perils... if you survive them, because it
is said that the path of Realization is difficult, that it means to
walk barefoot on a blade over a canyon, surrounded by the stench of
the corpses of those who haven't made it... and it is said with good
reason. If you survive, you will become Divine. You will become an
instrument, through which God's presence and reality will be felt on
this world. The path is agonizingly painful, filled with all sorts of
perils, where your powers will always be _just enough_ to overcome
them. Just enough, if you use everything you have, all the time.
Otherwise you will fall. Kundalini-yoga is the path that is meant to
create avatars. It faces one with the deepest truth and the deepest
reality. Facing the deepest truth can be so painful, that many people
will rather die or go crazy. Many will become the "spiritual"
charlatans, fakes, beginners who are afraid of going further, and who
will pretend to be the teachers of the world. Cowards will fail. The
morally weak will fail. Only the morally strongest, the most beautiful
ones will be able to look at God, survive, and become what they
observe.
Advertising yoga, especially Kundalini-yoga, as a method of acquiring
better health, improving concentration and stability etc., advertising
it to the personality-oriented westerners in order to take their
money, is utterly irresponsible and criminal. One who knows what
Kundalini-yoga really is, will scare away all the insecure
individuals, all but the most persistent ones, all but those who want
nothing but God, who only want to surrender to God, and who want
nothing else. For only they are the ones who will succeed, the others
will fail. This is the path that promises the blood from your own
heart, the sweat of agony and the tears of desperate pain. Those who
are willing to accept and endure it, are rewarded by the matchless
bliss of the goal.
This is not a yuppie yoga for losing weight and earning more money.
This is looking at the Angel of Death in the eyes, and making love
with the lance with which he stabs your heart. In that pain you will
perceive the highest ecstasy. Its taste will make you blind to all the
illusions of the world. This is the promise of Kundalini-yoga.
