Yes, but I think that you two are talking about different things. You
probably refer to some variety of hatha-yoga, which is, IMO, good for
health but can hardly be called a spiritual discipline. She was
probably talking about yoga as a spiritual discipline. You can hardly
get a diploma for knowing God, but if you want to conduct an aerobics
class, then it's easy, and you probably need one.
Yoga is a much more serious thing than that.
