Every bad thing is good, in a sense that it shows you what you should
avoid. A bad example is as useful as a good one, if you know how to
discriminate. That, however, doesn't portray the wrongdoers in a very
favourable light...
The Talebans have been an excellent illustration of human potential
for idiocy and shallow-minded fanaticism. The self-righteous
destruction.
A shallow mind wants to find cheap security. Religion is an excellent
harbour for those: you join one, and voila, suddenly you're on the
right side of the universe. Now, let's destroy the wrong side... God's
with us, of course. We have a book that says so.
